Austin Community Resource Event

Austin Community Long-Term Flood Recovery Group will hold an Austin Community Resource Event on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at BUILD, 5100 West Harrison, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. City, State, local officials, community organizations, and beyond will be available to give information to flood victims regarding their recovery efforts from the June 29th – July 2nd flood. FEMA and SBA will have specialists available to assist flood victims with the application process and explain the appeal opportunities, so please bring your paperwork, such as receipts and contractor’s estimates of work. Some cleaning supplies will be on hand for flood victims to continue the cleaning process in their basement or household needs.

On Sunday, July 2^nd, and Wednesday, July 5^th, torrential rain hit the Chicagoland area, leaving homeowners and small businesses flooded.  Because of rain, flood victims suffered significant damage and mold. The cleanup efforts continued on the westside and in the western suburbs.
