Movin’ On Up
ICMC and BUILD Chicago proudly present the WorldScene Film Festival curated by the youth participants of BUILD! The screening of “Movin’ On Up” includes 8 powerful short films from 5 different countries, and the chance to see compelling stories from around the world, hand-picked and sequenced by the youth themselves. Celebrate Imani as she finds the courage to confront her past through rap music (Q.U.E.E.N., USA.) Join Just, a young man who decides to ignore his disability and take matters into his own hands after his friend is robbed (Just Go!, Latvia.) Explore the sisterhood of Ella and Tara as they try to mend their relationship and deepen their family ties in Across the Tracks, USA. WorldScene features three Chicago premieres and the world premiere of the original short film The Bystander, which was written, produced, and performed by the youth of BUILD Chicago!
