BUILD CEO Named One of StreetWise’s 20 Most Inspiring Chicagoans for 2019

BUILD Chicago is exceptionally proud to announce that CEO Adam Alonso has been named one of 2019’s 20 Most Inspiring Chicagoans by StreetWise magazine.

“Since his arrival at BUILD in March 2015, Adam has catalyzed dramatic growth of BUILD’s programs, community leadership role, and impact. By rapidly developing and launching new initiatives—including the Block 51 Arts Academy, BUILDing Girls 2 Women program, and expanded behavioral health services, Alonso has led a transformation that has tripled BUILD’s budget and staff, positioned the agency for long-term sustainability, and substantially increased visibility. He is proving that when you believe in something that anything is possible.” (StreetWise)

The honorees were selected by a committee of Streetwise Board of Directors and affiliated partners. “Honoring those heroes among us who are making our city even stronger is so important as I believe it will inspire others to think about ways, they can make a positive impact in the community as well,” says Ben Swartz, StreetWise Board Chair. “We received hundreds of nominations from the public, which demonstrate the enduring spirit of philanthropy and empowerment baked into the culture of Chicago. Our 20 honorees represent a wide variety of courageous people who inspire all of us at StreetWise and our great city.” (StreetWise)
